The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) has organized the international business forum Central Europe Business Day as part of the National Project to Support the Internationalization of SMEs. The forum was organized on September the 29th, 2022, and took place in the grandiose premises of the Palace Art Hotel, Pezinok.The international business forum was attended by more than 40 Slovak and foreign companies from the engineering, information and communication technology, electrical engineering, automotive and construction sectors. As the name of the event suggests, the foreign representation within the business forum consisted mainly of companies from Central Europe, namely from Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Germany.During the Central Europe Business Day event, there were more than 150 mutual bilateral negotiations between individual participants. This created a unique opportunity to increase the competitiveness of Slovak small and medium-sized companies by connecting them with their new potential partners from abroad as well as from Slovakia.The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency plans to continue this international networking event also in the next year with the Central Europe Business Day 2023. The international business forum Central Europe Business Day was organized by the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) as part of the National Project scheme ‘Support of internationalization of SMEs’. The National project ‘Support of internationalization of SMEs’ is realized within the Operational Programme Research and Innovation, priority axis 3, investment priority 3.2, specific goal 3.2.1 targeting the increase of internationalization of SMEs and the use of the opportunities provided by the EU’s common market.The receiver of the National project is the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), which is an allowance organization of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, and the project’s partner is Slovak Business Agency.The main goal of the National project is to strengthen the internationalization capacities of SMEs including the presentation of entrepreneurial potential and the provision of free presentation, cooperation, and advisory services to these SMEs, with the aim being to increase the degree of their participation in international cooperation.
