Cooperation with the Irish Chamber of Commerce

SARIO CEO Juraj Kiesel met with the President of the Irish Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia, Mr. Glen Farrell to discuss the intensification of mutual relations.
“Looking at the numbers of the commerce exchange of Slovakia and the Republic of Ireland I have to admit that there is still a lot of work in front of us”, said SARIO CEO and he added that we are ready to support joined trade and investment events that could improve the current balance.
Recently we have passive trade balance with the Republic of Ireland, while in 2008 the export was 96.6 million EUR and import 105.7 million EUR. Our most important export commodities to Ireland are machines, electronics and transport equipment. We import mainly electrotechnics and pharmacy products from Ireland.
It is the field of pharmaceuticals and health products where the President of the Irish Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia sees the biggest perspective for the cooperation: “In the autumn we would like to prepare conference for the entrepreneurs in the field of pharmacy and healthcare in Bratislave, where we would be happy to welcome the participation of the Ministry of Health of the SR, the Ministry of the Economz of the SR and of course the SARIO agency,” said Glen Farrell.
The Head of the Investment Relations and Aftercare of the SARIO FDI Section Maria Mikusova informed the Irish guest about the current event the Investment and Cooperation Forum 2010 which will take place on March 9th 2010 under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy of the SR (https://www.sario.sk/?investment-and-cooperation-forum-slovakia-2010). The Territory Manager of the Foreign Trade Section Marcela Torokova described the preparation stage of the fourth Slovak Matchmaking Fair in Nitra during which it might be possible to prepare round table on the business in pharmaceutical industry. The President of the Irish Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia commented that their participation on both events might be very beneficial. SARIO CEO proposed to the President of the Irish Chamber of Commerce in Slovakia to exchange the information of both subjects through the mutual connection through links on both websites and this proposal was positively received.
