Investment seminar - EXPO Shanghai 2010

On the occasion of the World EXPO Shanghai 2010 the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency SARIO in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the SR (MHSR), and companies CHINACONTACT Co. Ltd., and SEBA Ltd. - Sino European Business Agency Limited organized investment seminar with the participation of 67 Chinese companies.
This event presented the Slovak economic and investment environment to the potential investors with the focus on the Slovak Republic as the right investment target.
H. E. Mr. Frantisek Dlhopolcek, the Ambassador of the SR in China and Mr. Lubos Halak, the State Secretary of the Ministry of the SR opened the event. The presentations of the SARIO project managers and other guests followed after the opening speeches.
“Together with our colleagues from the MH SR we had informed Chinese investors about the advantages of setting business in Slovakia. Besides of other factors it is mainly the stable politic and economic environment, stable currency, qualified and at the European standards relatively cheap labor force. Together with the comparative advantages of Slovakia as the EU membership, tax system and location in the Central Europe they make the difference”, SARIO FDI section manager Juraj Klacansky stressed in his speech.
Together with above mentioned advantages of Slovakia, participating businessmen received also detailed information on the possibilities of investment incentives presented by the specialist in this field Mrs. Lucia Guzlejova.
Slovak energy sector and the investment possibilities in this field were presented by the director general of the Energy Sector of MH SR Mr. Jan Petrovic.
Vice President of the International bank HSBC Mr. Earl Carr addressed the participants with a short presentation as well.
The seminar received a very positive response with the Chinese businessmen and they also presented their interest to organized negotiations in different sectors. The next day SARIO agency had organized private consultations on Chinese investment intents. The main field of interest were represented by the renewable energy resources, automobile industry, tourism and infrastructure.
