Location Bratislava On March 25, 2013 the representatives of SARIO on behalf of the invitation from the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Switzerland actively participated in the investment seminar organized by the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in the city of Lugano. They presented Slovakia as a potential business location not only for Swiss but as well as Italian investments. The seminar followed after the successful seminar held last year in Zurich. It was attended by nearly 30 participants from the ranks of entrepreneurs, representatives of banks and other institutions. SARIO presented Slovakia within the "Business Friendly Slovakia" project, which promotes the benefits of the Slovak business environment. The presentation covered the main sectors of Slovak economy, the macroeconomic environment and opportunities of investment and trade cooperation with Slovak companies. Katalin Dreher, Consultant for Europe in OSEC association noted the positive aspects of Slovakia, especially regarding education, labor force costs and motivation of the workforce as well as strong financial results. However, she also pointed out the areas where Slovakia needs improvement, such as support of research and development, reduction of regional disparities and a large dependence on poorly diversified exports. Slovakia is perceived very positively by the participants of the seminar. They were interested in the possibility of cooperation with Slovakia, as evidenced by the positive response from Ticino Canton Chamber of Commerce and publicity in local newspapers.
