Investment Seminars as a part of the USA roadshow

The Ministry of Economy of the SR in cooperation with SARIO has officially launched the investments seminars within the Invest in Slovakia road show in the USA. Washington DC was the first stop, and it will be followed by New York, San Francisco and Chicago. The goal of the seminar is to present Slovakia, the good quality of its business environment and openness towards new investments, especially in progressively and rapidly evolving areas.

 

The seminar was opened by Juraj Miskov, Minister of Economy of the SR and Peter Burian, Ambassador of the SR to the USA. Robert Simoncic, CEO of SARIO, has presented the positive economic performance of Slovakia, the government’s efforts to improve business conditions and the country’s openness towards new American investments. He pointed out to the success of American companies already present in Slovakia as a proof that investing in the country pays off. CEO of SARIO has emphasized the fact that Slovakia is not anymore only an important industrial producer, but also achieves significant growth and excellent results in sectors such as information technologies.

 

Further presentations were provided by Jake Slegers, Executive Director of AmCham in Slovakia, David Lohr, Senior Vice President of strategic planning in U.S. Steel and Ken Ryan, Managing Director of KPMG.

 

After the seminar, questions and answers of the audience followed with particular interest in the upcoming changes within the Labor Code, the regulations of foreign direct investment entry to the market, measures of export support and incentives for new investments. Short business-to-business meetings followed between the Minister of Economy of the SR, CEO of SARIO and interested company representatives. The participants expressed their satisfaction with the presentations and testimonials delivered at the seminar.
