On 28.06.2013 Nigerian-Slovak Business and Investment Forum (BIF) was held in Bratislava. Forum focused on bilateral negotiations between Nigerian and Slovak entrepreneurs for the purpose of establishing business cooperation. The event was attended by H. E. Maria Oyeyinka Laos, Ambassador of the Republic of Nigeria in Vienna, Branislav Javorek, Director General of Foreign Trade Section of the Ministry of Economy of the SR, Mr. Ogbeni Raufv Aregbesola, Osun State Governor, Dr. Samuel Olaniyan, Director of Investment Promotion - RAW MATERIALS RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (RMRDC). The main topic of official talks was the development of cooperation in following sectors: agriculture, energy, renewable energy sources. Business forum created space for Slovak companies to obtain cooperation opportunities for the further development and strengthening trade cooperation between the two countries. Nigeria is one of the fastest developing economies in Africa and the Slovak Republic with its business community will make every effort to capture trends in the development of African countries and build on the already successful operation of Slovak companies in this promising market.
