On November 28th, 2018 the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) actively participated at the event Partnership for Innovation: Canada and V4 Plus Estonia and Latvia organized by the Slovak Embassy in Ottawa. The event took place at the Global Affairs Canada and was led by the Slovak delegation under the Slovak Presidency in V4. The program started by opening remarks from Mr. Fry, Director General - European Affairs and Mr. Kamarianakis, Director General - Investment & Innovation alongside with Mr. Koziak, Ambassador of Slovakia to Canada. The goal of this event was to showcase innovation potential of each partaking country. In case of Slovakia, Miroslav Beseda (Senior Consultant, Investment Projects Department, SARIO) delivered the presentation GOOD IDEA SLOVAKIA - R&D AND INNOVATION POTENTIAL which promoted Slovakia to be a country rich on talent and great innovations. Moreover, the event also served as a great opportunity to introduce the CEE region to Canadian partners and to find common denominator in potential cooperation in the area of innovations. The Slovak section was supported by enriching presentations of two successful Slovak companies ESET – Mr. Dorais-Joncas (director of Montreal RnD centre) and NG Aviation - Ms. Franková (CEO and co-founder) which received very positive feedback from the audience. About 80 participants from different sectors – companies representatives, academics, diplomats, innovative institutions and media representatives joined the open discussion after the official part of the event. Within the trip schedule of SARIO and NG Aviation, the Slovak Embassy also organized numerous meetings and visits with relevant entities in Ottawa and Montreal such as ICAO, NAV, Innovation Canada or Invest Ottawa.
