On May 29, 2017 an investment seminar took place at the GIFAS headquarters in Paris (French Aircraft and Cosmetic Industry Group) with an aim to present Slovakia as an investment destination for companies from air, defense and space industries.At the beginning of the event, Mrs. Eva Rybárová, Economic Diplomat of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Paris welcomed participants of the forum. Afterwards, Ms. Martina Le Gall Maláková, President of the Franco-Slovak Chamber of Commerce introduced promotion activities of the development of economic cooperation between France and the Slovak Republic, the support of French business entities in Slovakia as well as other services of the Chamber.This was followed the SARIO presentation delivered by consultant Martina Balejová, who presented the business and investment environment of Slovakia, focusing on the key success-elements of the Slovak economy. During her speech Mrs. Balejova emphasized the importance of the Slovak industry as well as the trend of attracting high added value projects such as R&D centers or shared services centers operating alongside production plants.The last speaker was Mr. Martin Miklánek, external associate of SARIO for the aerospace industry and director of Aviation Cluster in Slovakia. Mr. Miklánek explained the history and the present of the airline and defense industry in Slovakia with an emphasis on the potential and opportunities that this industry offers.The event, attended by more than 20 business representatives from France, created a platform for the future cooperation of Slovak and French economic relations. The representatives of both sides agreed that the Slovak-French economic relations are of good quality and have the potential for further development, especially in areas with higher added value.
