The Prime Minister of the SR Robert Fico attended inspection day at the Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development (SARIO). The governmental delegation also included Miroslav Lajčák, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and Tomáš Malatinský, the Minister of Economy of the SR. At the meeting the Agency's management presented the achievements and contribution of agency to the economy of the SR, current strategy and direction of SARIO for 2013.

"I appreciate the boost of SARIO´s activity in recent months as well as its focus not only on attracting foreign investment to Slovakia but also on foreign trade development activities ", said Prime Minister Robert Fico.

Tomáš Malatinský, despite favorable outcome, still can see room for increasing the efficiency of the agency, particularly through interdepartmental communication and cooperation process control.

"For sure there are reserves. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has the right to speak to the functioning of SARIO since it covers foreign diplomats "said Economy Minister Tomáš Malatinský.

The Prime Minister Robert Fico asked Robert Šimončič, SARIO CEO, to conduct an analysis in collaboration with the MOE that would have incorporated into SARIO´s activities also for example the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.

"When looking for investors, the utmost coordination is necessary. SARIO is ready to participate in effective communication, which improves the success rate in finding foreign investors, "said Robert Šimončič.

SARIO from the beginning of this year managed to close 6 investment projects worth 280 million euros, which have the potential to create 1,200 new jobs. SARIO is currently negotiating with five other investors who could invest in our country from 200 to 300 million euro and create 3,000 jobs.

"For these investors we are currently struggling with several other countries," said Robert Šimončič.
