SARIO assisted German investor in the establishment of new plant

Location
Bratislava

A new plant of the German group Carcoustics was officially opened in Nováky. The plant will produce thermal isolation solutions for the passenger cars and later its portfolio should include also polyurethane products. The investment is expected to create approximately 250 new jobs.

According to Peter Schwibinger, the CEO of Carcoustics: “After achieving full production capacity, the company’s annual turnover should amount to EUR 50 million, while the initial investment should not exceed EUR 5 million.“

Representatives of Carcoustics suggested that the Nováky plant is also a potential location for future investments. If these expansions were to be carried out in Nováky, the total headcount could reach 400 in a few years’ time.

Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) has been providing the assistance to the investor since December 2012. Besides Slovakia, other short-listed locations were the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania . The city of Nováky eventually succeeded in tough competition of more than 100 individual locations.

Carcoustics has currently 11 plants, located in Europe, North America and Asia. In Slovakia there is already one production plant in Senec with 200 employees.
