Location Bratislava Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development (SARIO) has a role to promote the development of the Slovak economy. It is not only carried out through foreign direct investment but also through the support of small and medium enterprises in search of export and trade opportunities abroad. SARIO, in cooperation with BIC Bratislava, the coordinator of Enterprise Europe Network in Slovakia, organized the event "International Engineering Cooperation Day - Engineering 2012", which was an official accompanying event of the 19th International Engineering Fair in the Exhibition center Agrokomplex in Nitra. International Engineering Cooperation Day was based on bilateral negotiations. Businesses in the engineering industry had the opportunity to find partners in this area. Companies presented their production profiles, subcontracting offers, available production capacity. The event was a unique opportunity to establish new business contacts and cooperation with potential partners from Slovakia and abroad. Engineering sector is one of Slovakia's largest providers of employment. Benefits of this sector include a long tradition of engineering, continuous opportunities for research and development, good experience in implementing new technologies in production, as well as highly qualified and trained personnel. The event was attended by 55 companies. Most of them, 32 companies, came from Slovakia, the rest, 23 companies were representatives of companies from abroad (e.g. the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Serbia, Ukraine, Croatia, Australia). SARIO strives to become a modern investment and trade promotion agency, which will be seen by foreign investors and domestic partners as a vehicle for growth and innovation in the SR. SARIO wants to facilitate the development of Slovak economy by attracting new investment and trade promotion, which would result in new jobs and raising living standards in Slovakia.
