On November 18th, 2021, Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) carried out a thematically focused event entitled "Slovak Aviation Industry Day" at the Slovak Pavilion during the EXPO 2020 DUBAI World Exhibition that is held in the United Arab Emirates. The event was divided into several parts and highlighted successful Slovak projects and companies which shared their experiences while operating in the aviation industry. The first part consisted of the opening remark delivered by Mr. Miroslav Beseda, Deputy Director of the SARIO's Investment Projects Department. The introductory words were followed by a presentation of Mr. Martin Hlaváčik, a consultant of SARIO's Investment Projects Department. The presentation was focused on the Slovak aviation industry in general and the introduction of the successful Slovak companies operating in this sector that were present at the event as well. The next part of the event was followed by the individual presentations from the representatives of the companies like NG AVIATION, TOMARK AERO and JOKERTRIKE. NG AVIATION Director Simona Franková presented innovative solutions that are used in the navigation of civil aircraft and help us identify barriers on the runways in real time. TOMARK AERO company based in Prešov, led by CEO Daniel Tomko, presented its two main products - Viper SD4 and Skyper GT9 ultralight aircrafts and the possibilities of their application in practical life. The above-mentioned company JOKERTRIKE and its representative Martin Jelínek presented NISUS gyroscope and its applications as well. Afterwards, Mr. Benedikt Badánik, a professor serving at University of Žilina, Department of Air Transport, talked about the possibilities of cooperation between the academic community and the Slovak companies in the field of aviation within his case study that he had conducted.The presentation part was followed by a panel discussion with the representatives of the individual Slovak companies, which discussed their projects, success, visions and ideas, as well as the cooperation with the academia. At the end of the event, a networking matchmaking – namely networking soirée - took place, during which the representatives of the Slovak companies exchanged the information and the contacts with their potential partners not only from the United Arab Emirates, but also from the wider region and the other parts of the globe.
