On June 21, 2022, the Slovak-United Arab Emirates business forum was held in Bratislava, organized by the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development. This business forum was held as an accompanying event to the visit of a delegation from the United Arab Emirates, which was composed of representatives of governmental institutions responsible for investment and foreign trade cooperation, as well as business entities from several sectors, like energy, healthcare, transport, defense and ICT. The event took place in the congress hall of the Grand Hotel River Park Bratislava. The official part of the forum was opened by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy Ján Oravec and on Emirate’s side by Abdulla Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In their speeches, both emphasized the importance of mutual economic relations and the interest in further intensifying them. The introductory speeches were followed by the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO). The presentation of the investment and economic environment of the Slovak Republic interpreted by Stanislava Plascencia Lubinova, senior consultant of the SARIO investment projects department, closed the official part of the forum.Subsequently, the forum continued with pre-scheduled B2B negotiations. During this part of the event, more than 100 B2B and B2G negotiations took place between 11 emirates and 27 Slovak participants, during which the partners at the negotiating tables sought for potential matches for business cooperation.The event was a successful follow-up to several business missions to the United Arab Emirates, organized by the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) as part of the Slovak Republic presence at world exhibition EXPO 2020 Dubai.
