Top electrotechnics companies meet SARIO

Location
Bratislava

Slovak Agency for Investment and Trade Development (SARIO) got a chance to introduce itself in front of representatives of the largest electrical companies in the world. SARIO have become the partner of a two-day training conference “International Electronics Forum 2012".

It was already the 21st edition of this important event, which is held annually in a different country. The decision to organize this event has fallen for the first time on Slovakia, namely Bratislava. This was mainly because the electronics industry has a long tradition in our country, a strong position in the economy, and thus the potential for global players.

The opening speech was delivered by Robert Simoncic, SARIO CEO who introduced not only services of the agency but also the country within the project Business Friendly Slovakia. The presentations on investment opportunities in Slovakia, as well as the success stories of electrical companies already operating in Slovakia followed.

This event was a great opportunity for Slovakia to present itself because this country, despite financial and economic crisis all around the world, still has one of the highest predictive GDP for 2013 among the EU countries and the highest productivity within Central and Eastern European countries.

Participation and presentation at the conference have brought SARIO agency not only new contacts as well as identification of companies that have an interest to cooperate in order to find new business partners in the future. The prime interest of participants is to find in Slovakia start-up companies in the field of electrical engineering and innovation with which they could work together on the further development of technology.

The electrical industry experiences a period of extensive growth. From the year 2000, electrical engineering sector in Slovakia grew the fastest of all industrial production sectors in Slovak industry.

The electrical industry became the second strongest pillar of Slovak industry, the second largest employer and exporter. In the past decade, total revenues of ETI companies kept growing with double digit dynamics. ETI is one of the largest employers in Slovak industry, where companies with over 20 people employ over 11% of all staff in Slovak industry.
