Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO), within the framework of the National Project: ‘Support of Internationalization of SMEs’, and in cooperation with the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Slovak Republic organized two Slovak – Russian business forums, which were held in October on the occasion of the visit of Udmurt Republic and Perm Region delegations in the Slovak Republic.The Slovak – Russian business forum held on the occasion of the Udmurt delegation visit to the Slovak Republic (7th of October, 2019) was opened by the speech of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Udmurtia, Mr. Mikhail Khomich, and by the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Slovak Republic, Mr. Sergei Stupar. Eight Slovak participating companies were informed about the commercial potential of the Udmurt Republic, as well as about the activities and interests of the six participating Russian companies, afterward, they had an opportunity to hold discussions with the present Russian representatives on the possibilities of their business cooperation. Russian party was informed about SARIO’s activities and upcoming events regarding the Russian market. The business forum was focused on the sectors of the electrotechnics, metalworking, robotics, automation, petroleum and chemical industries, as well as the construction industry.During the Slovak – Russian business forum, which was held on the occasion of the visit of the Perm Region delegation (24th of October, 2019), the Slovak SMEs had an opportunity to hold negotiations with the representatives of Perm businesses from the segments of electrical engineering, metal processing, automation, chemical industry, clothing industry and the production of packaging materials. The Russian delegation, consisting of eight companies and led by the Vice-President of the Perm Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Elena Mironova, had an opportunity to meet with representatives of eight Slovak SMEs.Slovak small and medium enterprises, which attended the business forums, achieved relevant contacts for the development of mutual business relationships. Positive feedback from the entrepreneurs, as well as their interest in participating in future SARIO events, and the positive feedback from the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the Slovak Republic and the Perm Chamber of Commerce and Industry regarding their cooperation with SARIO indicates the fact, that these events were successful and give outlook for future mutual cooperation.Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) organizes trade missions within its National Project ‘Support of internationalization of SMEs’ which is organized within the framework of the Operational Programme Research and Innovation, priority axis 3, investment priority 3.2, specific goal 3.2.1 targeting the increase of internationalization of SMEs and the use of the opportunities provided by the EU’s common market.
