WAIPA Focus Meeting – „IPA´s Performance Measurement“

Timea Nemesová, FDI Section Project Manager of the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) participated at WAIPA Focus Meeting: “IPA's Perfomance Measurement”, focusing on all important issues of measuring the performance of investment promotion agencies. The main organizers of the meeting included the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments - JAPTIand the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies - WAIPA.

 

The objective of WAIPA Focus Meeting was to explorethe most effective methods of measuring performancebased upon experience of investment promotion agencies, to devise effective methods to identify appropriate activities that would positively affect FDI inflows into the country. The performance measurement topic was opened by Mr. Bronzato Carlos, CEO of WAIPA and Mr. Clive Vokes, Executive Director of International Market Scoping, followed by presentations by officials of investment promotion agencies: Skočir Matej (Slovenia), Giedré Urbonavičiuté (Lithuania), Raul Khabanda (UK), Guntis Lauskis (Latvia), Einar H. Tomasson (Island), as well as representatives of Serbia and Belgium. 

 

The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency in its speech stressed out its important role in attracting foreign direct investments into Slovakia, whereas in the period of 2002-2009 the agency successfully implemented 310 investment projects in the total volume of 6, 5 billion EUR and creating about 63,800 new jobs.
